Greenworksbio has launched innovative eco-friendly products: compostable and biodegradable alternatives to single-use plastics. Greenworksbio’s new product line includes compostable granules, eco-friendly tableware, sustainable hygiene solutions and more, meeting diverse industrial needs. Developed in collaboration with CSIR-IICT, these products are made from renewable sources such as starch and agricultural waste and meet stringent national standards for composability.
“This groundbreaking initiative aims to combat plastic pollution with sustainable solutions and is in line with India’s vision to phase out single-use plastics while promoting a circular economy,” said Rishika Reddy, Director, Greenworks Bio.
The biocomposites exhibit remarkable tensile strength, reduced sensitivity to moisture and improved compostability. These properties make them ideal for packaging, carrier bags, waste collection bags, agricultural films and much more.
The resulting products offer high load-bearing capacity, thinner designs for less material use and improved transparency.
“These products achieve greater than 90% biodegradation within 180 days under composting conditions,” she said.
“By leveraging cutting-edge technologies developed in collaboration with CSIR-IICT, we are making a tangible impact on reducing plastic pollution and driving positive change in industries around the world,” she said.
